In 2022, Riley County Health Department and their partners facilitated a process to develop a Community Health Improvement Plan, or CHIP. The CHIP process invited local residents and community organizations to use community health assessment data to identify priority issues, develop and implement strategies for action, and establish accountability to ensure measurable health improvement.

Multiple community meetings allowed participants to provide input.

In 2015, health improvement planning partners invited the community to help identify Riley County's top health priorities for targeted attention and resources over the next five years or so. In 2022-2023, the community reviewed the work done since the last health improvement planning process and reviewed current data to set new priorities for the next 3-5 years.

Based on the series of community and stakeholder meetings, three priorities were identified as having the most potential for collective impact in improving the health of Riley County.

  1. Housing
  2. Mental Health
  3. Transportation

These selected three priorities are being addressed through a concerted, cooperative effort of strategic teams formed around the issues.

Let's make Riley County a healthier place for all!
